Each time I create one of these domains, some part is harder than the others. Sometimes it’s the list of spells. Sometimes it’s one of the abilities. In this case there were two.

The first difficulty is that there was a similar domain already in the PHB. It encompasses more elements than the Plant Domain and has a different focus, but there is still plenty of overlap (spoiler – look for an Animal Domain soon). A corollary to this is trying to create a Cleric Domain that doesn’t reproduce the Druid class – also a problem with an Animal Domain.

Second difficulty is what do you do for the capstone ability for a Plant Domain. I tried replicate any ability of a plant, but that wasn’t enough for such a high level. Finally I settled on regenerate – all plants can regrow – so why not their Clerics.
