Camping as Development Time

A week at Itasca State Park in Minnesota. No electricity, No computer, No dice, etc. No worries.

It turns out that removing distractions actually encourages creativity (I know – I’m always the last to figure this stuff out). I brought a notebook and pencil (an old Wizards notebook and mechanical pencil from GenCon) and took some moments to just write. Between swatting the mosquitoes, it actually worked. I think I now have the missing middle section of my Escape from Coruscant GenCon adventure.

So it turns out one of the secrets of creating adventures is removing the distractions – and a screen tent to keep out the bugs.
