Rise of the New Gods – After Action Report

This past weekend was a small con (really a get together of friends) where I got to play the scenario from the previous post, Rise of the New Gods. I am thinking about running it at GenCon, so won’t give out any particulars – sorry.

Positives.
As always better characters make better stories. Spending more time on backstory and relationship paid off.
Looser story is better. I had a more vague idea of the flow of the story, and let the characters drive that as much as possible
LEGOs for the win (again). The little bricks make great robots and super villain lairs.

Negatives.
Too much time. I always seem to spend too much time on the opening battle. Could have cut it in half. Smaller map – maybe.
Character balance. Not every PC has a secret – may need to change that.
maps were too big for the table. I blame the table (and the beers, and the chips, and well lots of things)

Overall a positive. I want to stay with four PCs – maybe run it more often.
